7/VI.

Comrade Stučka:

In fulfilment of your request, I wrote this very day to
Chicherin, asking him to put more pressure on the Latvian
Government, and to send a telegram to Hanecki telling him of my request to exert pressure without fail and rescue
the workers.

Best greetings and congratulations on the successes of the communist movement in Latvia!

Yours, Lenin

Written in reply to P. I. Stučka’s letter to Lenin of June 6, 1921,
requesting help in exchanging two workers, members of the
Central Committee of the Communist Party of Latvia, up before a
military tribunal in Riga for persons arrested in the R.S.F.S.R.
for anti-Soviet activity, whom the bourgeois government of
Latvia would like to see released. In the final part of his letter, Stučka
said that the influence of the Communist Party in Latvia was
growing.
