26 V [1921]
Comrade Krzhizhanovsky!
I remember you told me about the need to remove the Mensheviks from there.
This must be entrusted to a special commission.
How to compose it? -
How to check its work? Jot down a note, returning this.
Lenin.

Comrade M!
Lest I forget:
Regarding the electric power station. Together with M. K. or
his commission - \- VChK
You must compose a calendar program for cleansing completely of Mensheviks by December 1, 1921 or another
similar deadline.
Gosplan - a practical program of works:
a) practical verification of current plans (such-and-such);
B) reduction of the number of institutions (also deadlines for work),
Y) also - the number of employees, etc.
An accurate and practical program.
Greetings! Lenin.

1 In a letter to Lenin on May 26, A. B. Khalatov reported that the Moscow
tram electric power station and the Electric Lighting Society
of 1886 are "strongholds of the old Menshevik nest," and raised
the question of transferring a significant part of the employees to other enterprises,
who, despite improved supplies, periodically staged
Italian strikes.
2 The note was apparently written after May 26 (see previous document), but before the Politburo meeting on June 4, which heard the report
"On the Work of the Mensheviks" and constructed a commission consisting of I. S.
Unshlikht, E. A. Preobrazhensky and V. M. Mikhailov.
