SPEECH AT THE MEETING OF COMMUNISTS AND CANDIDATES OF THE RCP(b) FROM THE KREMLIN DISTRICT

9 MAY 1921 (PROTOCOL RECORD)
In his report, Comrade Lenin noted: “As members of the Party, you must familiarize yourselves with my pamphlet on the tax in kind, No. 95, which has now been published and is being distributed.” He further emphasized that every member of our Party should not isolate themselves from the non‑Party masses—as is all too often the case among us. Therefore, each comrade must spend more time among the non‑Party masses and engage in more extensive propaganda efforts. In closing, he said: “You, who frequently read newspapers and attend meetings and lectures—those of you who are more highly developed—are called upon to work even more diligently among the peasantry, conducting agitation among them regarding the significance of the tax in kind. Only then can we achieve truly good results.”
