T. Sklyansky!

My sister, Maria Ilyinichna Ulyanova, has gone to Crimea with Bukharin, his wife¹* and certain other comrades¹*.

They have a special railway carriage.

Could you please issue an order to attach this carriage, upon passengers’ request, to military trains in order to expedite travel—both there and back?

1* N.M. Bukharin.

1At the April 3, 1921 meeting of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the RCP(b), by way of a telephone poll among its members, N.I. Bukharin was granted a five‑week leave of absence to travel to Crimea with L.P. Serebryakov. M.I. Ulyanova joined them; her leave had been approved by a decision of the Politburo dated April 5. On the same day, the Politburo appointed A.A. Solts as editor of the newspaper Pravda for the duration of Bukharin’s leave.
