Note to Comrade Semashko
[Not before March 16, 1921]

Comrade Semashko:

(1) I very much ask that you appoint a special person (preferably a well-known doctor, who knows foreign countries, well-known abroad) to be sent abroad to
Germany (Tsyurupa/Krestinsky, Ossinsky, Kurayev
Gorky, Korolenko and others).

Skillfully to inquire, to ask, to agitate, to write to Ger-
many, to help the sick, etc.

Do it arch-carefully.
(thoroughly)

(2) Send the best doctor to examine N. I. Bu- kharin's health (specifically his heart) and to inform me of the outcome.

Lenin

To the Secretary.
