NOTE TO N. N. KRESTINSKY 1
[July 7, 1920!
1) I cannot accept this.
2) Bokiy is willing to step down, provided there is a suitable replacement—two candidates, in fact.
1 Written on a note from the Secretary of the Central Committee of the RCP(b), N. N. Krestinsky,
apparently during a Politburo meeting devoted to discussing the composition of the Turk-
Commission, requesting that the TurkCommission member G. I. Bokiy be replaced by another comrade,
with the additional note that T. R. Ryskulov, Chairman of the TurkCIC, along with Khodshaev and Ivanov—who were departing in a day—had petitioned Lenin for an audience.
G. I. Bokiy had been a party member since 1900. Following the October Socialist Revolution, he served as Secretary of the Petrograd Committee of the RCP(b).
* A reply from Krestinsky has been received, proposing several candidates to replace Bokiy. Lenin affixed his marks—-, —, ?—to each name.
