[Between September 20 and 23, 1920]

For us, the whole point is: first, to have an armistice in a short time, and secondly, and most importantly, to have a real guarantee of actual peace within 10 days. Your task is to ensure this and to verify the reality of the guarantees of actual fulfillment. If you ensure this, then make maximum concessions, up to the line along the Shchara River, the Oginsky Canal, the Yaselda and Styr rivers, and further along the state border between Russia and Eastern Galicia. If, despite all our efforts and concessions, this absolutely cannot be ensured, then your sole task is to expose the Poles' procrastination and definitively certify to us the inevitability of a winter campaign.
