FROM NEGOTIATIONS VIA DIRECT LINE
BETWEEN V. I. LENIN and I. V. STALIN*
No later than November 20, 1920
I cannot give any answer without convening the Politburo.
I advise you either to submit a concrete proposal immediately
and immediately put it to the Politburo, or to act yourself
on the exact basis of the powers available to Stalin, or,
finally, expedite your arrival in Moscow to resolve the entire
Caucasian issue as a whole. In any case, it is necessary
to strengthen and accelerate the approach of reinforcements, and inform me of exactly
what your decision is.
Lenin
To Lenin. Response to the note. I am leaving for Mos cow tonight. I am instructing Ordzhonikidze to conduct preparatory
