NOTE TO THE SMALL COUNCIL OF PEOPLE'S COMMISSARS**
October 3, 1920
To the Small
Council: not to give anything at all, in my opinion, because
it is possible (and necessary) to place the headquarters of the Revolutionary Military Council of the Western Front in other
buildings, even if a little cramped.
Lenin

* In a telegram dated September 28, 1920, the commander of the Southern
Front, M.V. Frunze, asked V.I. Lenin to expedite the transfer of the 1st Cavalry Army to the Southern Front: "The transition to a general offensive depends on
the arrival time of the 1st Cavalry." On October 3, M.V. Frunze telegraphed
V.I. Lenin again: "I consider the delay of Budyonny's cavalry to be the worst, to which I constantly draw the attention of the Commander-in-Chief." V.I. Lenin
on October 4
1920 sent the following telegram to the Revolutionary Military Council
of the 1st Cavalry Army: "It is extremely important to expedite the movement
of your army to the Southern Front with all your might. I ask you to take all measures for this, not stopping
before heroic ones. Telegraph what exactly you are doing" ("M.V. Frunze on the fronts of the civil war," 1941, pp. 346, 353, 355).
