NOTE TO G. K. ORJONIKIDZE
Beginning of June 1920
Comrade Sergo! I am sending you the messages delivered to me. Please return them with your notes regarding
the facts: what is true, what is not true.
You get heated, probably, very well on occasion?
You should get assistants, perhaps, and direct the work more systematically.
I hope you will not be offended by my comments and will answer frankly what and how you think to correct and fix.
Greetings! Your Lenin

TELEGRAM TO G. K. ORJONIKIDZE
Baku**
June 3, 1920
Received your offended letter. You are considering in vain the request mandatory for me, as distrust, but I hope that even before a personal meeting you will drop the inappropriate
tone of offense.
Lenin
* The Commander-in-Chief asked the Council of Labor and Defense to cancel the order to transfer the 28th division from Azerbaijan to the Western Front. Attached to the Commander-in-Chief's report is a telegram from the command of the Caucasian Front, which stated: "Member of the Revolutionary Military Council Comrade Orjonikidze reports from Baku that the withdrawal of even one battalion from Azerbaijan is tantamount to nullifying all the successes achieved and the transfer of the 28th division will force us to abandon the Baku oil fields."
** Printed from a typewritten copy with a note by G. K. Orjonikidze in the margins: "The telegram was received by me in the summer of 1920. Orjonikidze."
