NOTES TO M. N. POKROVSKY 1
[May 1920, no earlier than 29]

To Comrade M. N. Pokrovsky:
1) Have you met with Balkashina? If so, what was the outcome?
2) Tomorrow, I would like to call you during the daytime (11 a.m.–4 p.m.). Where will you be?
Lenin

Comrade Pokrovsky!
If you’re not in a hurry to leave, perhaps after the meeting we could spend five minutes discussing Balkashina?
Lenin
1 A. F. Balkashina served as head of the Experimental School of the People’s Commissariat for Education.
V. I. Lenin took a keen interest in the findings of the commission tasked with inspecting the school and in the conclusions it had reached.
Balkashina had written to Lenin, informing him that while the commission’s overall impression of the Experimental School’s work was satisfactory, she found the commission’s conclusions unclear and requested that Lenin advise her on whether she should continue working at the school.
On Balkashina’s letter, Lenin made the following note:
“In the archives
Received 29/V 1920 (from Balkashina).”
