To Comrade Serafimovich

Dear Comrade, My sister has just told me of the terrible misfortune
which has overtaken you. Allow me to give you the very warmest handshake, and to wish you courage and firmness
of spirit. I very much regret that I have not been able to
fulfil my desire to see you more often and to become better
acquainted. But your books, and what my sister has often
told me, have aroused a profound affection for you in me,
and I very much want to say to you bow necessary your work is for the workers and for all of us, and how essential
it is now for you to be firm, in order to overcome your
grief and force yourself to return to work. Forgive me for
writing in a hurry. Once again, I shake you very warmly
by the hand.

Yours, Lenin
