In reply to your letter of 5/III, I am sending you a copy of the telegram from the People’s Commissariat of Food to Badaev: “You are instructed, pending the final resolution of the question of improving the situation of scholars by a special commission of the Council of People’s Commissars

to continue supplying according to the plan previously adopted by you, that is, without reducing it, in accordance with
the latest order of the People’s Commissariat of Food.” Pokrovsky’s commission is protesting the
Petrograd list as unjust. Sapozhnikov was released on 9/III. Manukhin
must submit to People’s Commissar of Health Semashko an outline of the method of the proposed research, on the results of whose examination the decision depends.
