RESOLUTION ON THE TELEGRAM FROM SARATOV
[February 26, 1920]
To Sklyansky and Krasin, to provide a copy of their response and report on 27/II at the Defense Council

On December 24, 1919, the Defense Council adopted a resolution recognizing as urgent operational tasks the construction of the Alexandrov-Gai Emba railway and the pipeline, as well as the conversion to broad gauge of the railway line from Krasny Kut to Alexandrov-Gai. The People's Commissariat for Military Affairs was given the task of sending two railway battalions to Saratov for the dismantling of the narrow-gauge line from Krasny Kut to Alexandrov-Gai. In a telegram dated February 25, addressed to the Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars V. I. Lenin, the chief engineer of the Alexandrov-Gai—Emba, A. V. Budassi, reported that the railway battalions assigned for dismantling the tracks, despite several urgent requests, remained in their previous locations, and asked to give instructions to the People's Commissariat of Ways of Communication and the Central Administration of Military Communications for the immediate dispatch of both railway battalions (see also V. I. Lenin. Collected Works, Vol. 51, p. 121, and Lenin Collection XXXIV, pp. 266-267).
