The secretary of “Industrial Workers of the World” requests a meeting with Gardy.
Arrange a call with him and ascertain precisely when he plans to arrive.
A meeting is essential. Is it possible to postpone it until Wednesday evening?
* The memorandum was prepared in connection with the discussion at the Sovnarkom session on January 17, 1920, concerning measures to improve the food situation of employees in Soviet institutions and to introduce free public catering. The resolution adopted by the Sovnarkom was published in Izvestia of the All‑Russian Central Executive Committee on January 21, 1920.
* * Written in response to a letter from A. V. Lunacharsky, who had requested clarification regarding the arrest of members of the Commission on Juvenile Affairs.
The document bears the following note from F. E. Dzerzhinsky, dated January 22, 1920: “The sealing of the premises and the arrests of the commission’s members were carried out by the Investigative Commission attached to the Supreme Tribunal.
Accusation: monstrous embezzlement, abuse of office, and collaboration with the White Guard.
The evidence is substantial.”
