Brief Newspaper Report

Today we are celebrating the day of universal military training for the toiling masses.

Until now, military affairs have been one of the instruments for the exploitation of the proletariat by the class of capitalists and landowners, and until now throughout all of Europe the power of the capitalists is maintained by the remnants of the old army, which is commanded by bourgeois officers. But this very strongest pillar of the bourgeoisie will fall when the workers take the rifle into their own hands, when they begin to create their own enormous army of the proletariat, when they begin to educate soldiers who will know what they are fighting for, who will defend workers and peasants, factories and plants, so that landowners and capitalists cannot restore their power.

Today's festival shows what successes we have achieved, what new force is growing in the depths of the working class. When we look at this parade, we become confident that Soviet power has won the sympathy of workers of all countries, that instead of international war, a fraternal union of international Soviet republics will be established.

I present to you the Hungarian comrade, Tibor Samuelyi, Commissar for Military Affairs of the Hungarian Soviet Republic.

Long live the Hungarian proletariat!

Long live the international communist revolution!
