Т. Zinoviev!

Since you have sent me the proofreading1 , bring it to the end:

appoint a person responsible for the proofreading; send me his name and address; return the enclosed proofreading to me together with the journal number so that I can check whether the corrections have been made.

(Without this, the "Soviet" bastard will not do a damn thing! And there is no point)1*.

They say you can make a lot of kegresses. The chauffeur Gusev (who was in St. Petersburg for me) will do it2. Do you agree that I should send him to Peter to make a lot of Kegresses?

NB: Prepare in advance a peat campaign near Peter.

Hello! Lenin.

Published with a bill. V.I.Lenin. Biographical Chronicle, Vol. 8, p. 128.

Fund 2, op. 1, d. 12072 - autograph.

1* The phrase in parentheses is omitted when published in the Biographical Chronicle

1It refers to Lenin's proofreading of his article "Elections to the Constituent Assembly and the Dictatorship of the Proletariat," written on December 16, 1919, and published in the journal "Communist International," No. 7-8, November-December 1919, pp. 953-968 (see: Lenin V.I. Poln. sobr. op. cit., vol. 40, pp. 1-24). The manuscript of the article and its typewritten copy with Lenin's corrections have survived (see: RCCHIDNI, f. 2, op. 1, d. 12070, 12071).

On November 215, 1919, the head of the workshops of the autobase of the Sovnarkom of the RSFSR A.A.Gusev together with mechanics I.Kosovorotov and D.Makarov, having received instructions signed by V.I.Lenin, were sent to the Putilov plant in Petrograd to receive four "Packard" autosleds of the "Kegress" system (see: V.I.Lenin Biographical Chronicle. Vol. 8. M., 1977, p. 26). The resolution of the issue was clearly delayed. On December 23, Lenin, responding to a letter from G.E. Zinoviev of December 20, insisted on the manufacture of more autosledges (see: Lenin V.I. Complete Works, vol. 51, p. 99). It has not been possible to establish how the issue was finally resolved.
