RESOLUTION ON I. V. STALIN'S TELEGRAM
25 October 1919

[V. I. Lenin's resolution:] Ask the military censor if he objects to publication.

[Telegram:] Moscow. To Lenin, Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars

The cavalry corps of Shkuro and Mamontov, created by the prolonged efforts of the Entente and Denikin as the sole bulwark of counter-revolution, have been utterly defeated in the battles near Voronezh by Budyonny's Red cavalry corps. Voronezh has been taken by the Red heroes. Masses of trophies. The tally is being made. So far it has been established that all the enemy's named armoured trains have been captured, led by the armoured train named after General Shkuro. The pursuit of the defeated enemy continues. The halo of invincibility created around the names of Generals Mamontov and Shkuro has been cast into the dust by the valour of the Red heroes of Budyonny's cavalry corps.
