RESOLUTION ON A LETTER
REGARDING THE SNOW REMOVAL FROM MOSCOW STREETS
March 27, 1919
Dear Comrades! Please answer, under what decree were the residents of the Vulfovich house driven out
at 2 a.m. to remove snow in front of their house...
The residents were not notified in a timely manner that
the snow had to be removed. They only found out about this when
they began going around the apartments and waking people up.
The residents were threatened with six months in prison
if they did not go to work. But what turned out?
The residents went to work, but there were enough tools
only for 1/5 of those who went out to work, 4/5 had to stand and watch.
My opinion is—one should not act so harshly and impetuously,
but it is necessary in each house to establish a labor rotation for snow removal
in front of their house. This decree can only be welcomed. But if they continue to drive people
from their apartments to work like this, then there may
also be robberies. One of the participants in the work from March 11
to 12.
