ROOTS OF THE IVANOVO-VOZNESSENSK GOVERNORATE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
December 28, 1918
Please send by mail all of your resolutions concerning the library. Surkov has agreed to donate his collection to the local workers’ reading room, and this seems to me entirely justifiable.

TO THE LIBRARY DEPARTMENT OF THE COMMISSIONERATE FOR PEOPLE’S EDUCATION
December 30, 1918
I request that you receive the applicant, Comrade Prokofiev. His request—to requisition Surkov’s library for a district with a population of 40,000—seems to me quite reasonable; perhaps it would be appropriate to allow Surkov to retain certain rights of access? I ask that you send me a copy of your resolution on this matter, and I also request that you assist the comrades in Rodnikov in expanding their library. Would it be possible to send them one of the estate libraries that have been requisitioned? Please inform me of this as well.
