Are there any serious charges against Professor Zernov, whom you arrested?¹
Gorbunov and Krasin are asking for his release.
Lenin.

¹ D. N. Zernov was an anatomist and professor at Moscow State University.

This morning I requested information as to why Kirill Semenovich Ginzburg* has not been released, despite the fact that two members of the Russian Communist Party of Bolsheviks—Dauge² and Zhukhovitsky³—are vouching for him, and also information as to which members of the All-Russian Extraordinary Commission stated, and when, that they could not find Ginzburg, although he is being held in Butyrki.
I requested this information by the evening of November 11. As of now, 10 1/2 hours, I have not received an answer. I repeat my request once again.
Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars Lenin.
