RESOLUTION ON A TELEGRAM FROM IZELAN
TAMBOV PROVINCE

[1918, August, no earlier than 28]
Moscow, CEC, TO LENIN. The Seventh Company of the First Worker-Peasant
Socialist Regiment, volunteers of Usman
Uyezd, standing in the advanced trenches guarding the revolution, is deeply outraged and protests against the trumped-up accusations and removal of the steadfast fighter
for the proletariat and the gains of the October Revolution, Chairman of the Usman
Soviet, Ispolatov. A curse on those who betrayed and abandoned an honest
old communist who only wanted the good of the poorest peasantry
and workers.
Chairman of the Committee Mokeyev, Company Commander Chistyakov
Forward by telegraph to the Tambov Gubernia Committee and request
an explanation.

NOTE TO N. P. BRYUKHANOV
[1918, August, no later than 28]
To Bryukhanov
Your conclusion?
Should we bring this before the SNK?
Or will you implement this with an order from the Komprod?

Lenin
1 V. I. Lenin requests the opinion of the Deputy People's Commissar of
Food N. P. Bryukhanov on a report on the results of a survey
of the handling of the potato procurement business.
In his reply, Bryukhanov reports that in most cases the orders of the Narkomprod
coincide with the proposals of the report and are largely used. On August 28
1918, this issue was considered at a meeting of the Council of People's Commissars.

EXCHANGE OF NOTES WITH L. B. KAMENEV

[August
1918]
I am in favor of not giving them a separate newspaper, but
trying to incorporate them (as a department) into the peasant newspaper.
Mitrofanov (from Sereda) was at a meeting with them and did not agree
to take them.
Yes, I heard, but I don't think that the statement of one
Mitrofanov
2 is already decisive.
1 The correspondence apparently took place at one of the meetings of the SNK. The issue concerns the publication of an independent newspaper by the Narkomzem.
2 A. Kh. Mitrofanov worked in the Narkomzem from August 7, 1918.

NOTE TO G. V. CHICHERIN
23. IX. 1918
Comrade Chicherin!
I am sending the documents back to you.
You did not write the purpose of sending them: if that purpose is to consult, then I have nothing
against it. I have not seen Stalin and have not spoken with him
2.
Yours, Lenin
1 What documents are being referred to has not been established.
2 On September 22, 1918, I. V. Stalin departed for Tsaritsyn.
