Saratov
To Antonov
I will transmit your telegram to Trotsky.
I have already once telegraphed to Ivanov[2], who is travelling to Baku[3], and I repeat once more that if he is needed in Saratov, he must help the Saratovites especially if the need is extreme, if our troops are surrounded.
Let Ivanov give me a reply.
Lenin

[1] V. P. Antonov-Saratovsky — chairman of the Saratov Gubernia Executive Committee.
[2] V. G. Ivanov (Kavkazsky) — in 1917–1918 — member of the Tiflis Party Committee, the Executive Committee of the Regional Soviet of the Caucasian Army, the Presidium of the eastern part of the Central Fleet, commander of a military flying detachment of the Moscow Military District. Until 1921 he was at the fronts of the civil war.
[3] V. I. Lenin telegraphed V. G. Ivanov on July 7, 1918, about permission to leave for Baku on condition that the situation in Volsk was favourable. By that time the counter-revolutionary mutiny of the Left Socialist-Revolutionaries had been suppressed there.
