Kolegaev told me personally, and then Zinoviev and many others, that he, Kolegaev, is an opponent of the present policy of the Left Socialist-Revolutionary party. I have no doubt that the insanely hysterical and provocative adventure involving the assassination of Mirbach and the revolt of the Central Committee of the Left Socialist-Revolutionaries against Soviet power will alienate from them not only the majority of their workers and peasants, but also many intellectuals. The entire revolt was completely liquidated in a single day. Hundreds of people have been arrested.

Have Muravyev's statement about his withdrawal from the Left Socialist-Revolutionary party recorded in the protocol; continue vigilant oversight. I am confident that, provided these conditions are observed, we shall be fully able to make use of his excellent combat qualities. The struggle against the Czechoslovaks and Cossacks must be conducted with triple energy.
