Comrade Sverdlov,

1) I have a letter from Wilson**. Do you need it?

2) When should I speak? Answer***.

Lenin

*The note was written by V. I. Lenin during the session of the Fourth Extraordinary All-Russian Congress of Soviets.*

**In response to an address from the President of the United States of America, the Congress of Soviets adopted a resolution proposed by V. I. Lenin, in which it expressed gratitude to the American people for their sympathy to the Russian people in the days of severe trials (see V. I. Lenin. Works, volume XXII, p. 387).*

***In a reply note, Ya. M. Sverdlov wrote: "1) With Wilson it is finished by the adoption of your resolution, adopted before that unanimously in the presidium. 2) To speak in 15—20 minutes.—Ya. Sverdlov".*
