On the basis of the decree of the Council of People's Commissars] of 14. I at night — [the text of this decree] an extract from the minutes, is attached— we ask the Central Committee of the party of the Left Socialists-Revolutionaries to inform us:
1) when did the Petrograd Committee of the Left Socialist-Revolutionaries adopt the resolution on the unwillingness to provide workers to the Investigative Commission, while Kozlovsky is in it?
2) what is the text of this resolution?
3) was this resolution known to the Central Committee of the party of the Left Socialist-Revolutionaries, and was there a judgment about it in the Central Committee of the party of the Left Socialist-Revolutionaries?
4) when and who reported (from the Left Socialist-Revolutionaries) in the Petrograd [Soviet] or its Executive Committee] that, while Kozlovsky is in the Investigative Commission, the Left Socialist-Revolutionaries will not go into it?
5) was the decision of the Petrograd [Soviet] fulfilled by the Left Socialist-Revolutionaries, which proposed to the Left Socialist-Revolutionaries to submit data against Kozlovsky within a specified period?
1 In connection with the decree of the Council of People's Commissars on the appointment of an investigation into the activities of the Investigative Commission under the Petrograd Soviet (see p. 114 of the Collection), the leaders of this commission, M. Yu. Kozlovsky and P. A. Krasikov, *January 27 (14), 1918, appealed to the Council of People's Commissars with a request to revise the aforementioned decree.
After discussing the statement of Kozlovsky and Krasikov,
The Council of People's Commissars, in addition to the above appeal to the Central Committee of the Left Socialists-Revolutionaries, decided:
“To appoint the Investigative Commission a period of 48 hours to present the results of its work, i.e., concrete data for accusing the members of the Investigative Commission.”
