Dear V. A.! You really gave me a good “tough time” over Nicholas II, didn’t you?*
As for the Garton Foundation, I haven’t seen any directives regarding it and have no idea where or how to look for them. Do you happen to recall exactly where you read about it? If you could track down that particular issue of the newspaper—I’d be able to locate the relevant reference in the library.

I’m enclosing “Volksrecht,” where, in addition to the Central Committee’s statement, please pay attention to the resolution passed at the Zurich meeting opposing the postponement of the 425th Congress. I earnestly request that Olga circulate this document among the Geneva group of Zimmerwald Leftists and provide every possible form of support—translate the resolution, adopt an identical resolution, and so forth. (We prepared this resolution here within the Zimmerwald Leftist circle. It would be highly desirable to coordinate our efforts.)

To be honest, I’d rather not travel to Geneva: (1) I’m unwell; my nerves are simply not up to it. I’m afraid of delivering presentations; (2) On January 22nd, I have commitments here and must prepare for my German-language lecture. Therefore, I cannot promise to come. (Please jot down what kind of meeting Gilbo is proposing, who will be attending, and when it’s scheduled?

How can I be of assistance? In what way?)
I warmly shake both of your hands and send you all my best regards.

Yours, Lenin
