1. To leave representatives of the bourgeoisie in power, even in small numbers, to leave such obvious Kornilovists as Generals Alekseev, Klembovskii, Bagration, Gagarin and others, or such as have proven their complete helplessness before the bourgeoisie and their capacity to act in Bonapartist fashion, like Kerensky – this means to throw wide open the doors, on the one hand, to famine and the inevitable economic catastrophe which the capitalists deliberately accelerate and intensify, and on the other hand, to military catastrophe, for the army hates the High Command and cannot participate with enthusiasm in an imperialist war. Besides, the Kornilovite generals and officers, remaining in power, will undoubtedly deliberately open the front to the Germans, as they did with Galicia and Riga. Only the formation of a new government on new foundations, set forth below, can prevent this. After all that has been endured since April 20th, for the Socialist-Revolutionaries and Mensheviks to continue any kind of conciliation with the bourgeoisie would be not merely an error on their part, but outright betrayal of the people and the revolution.
