# Yet Another Commission
Source: PSS, Volume 32

Economic collapse has already begun. The bourgeoisie is launching an offensive along the entire front. Decisive measures are urgently needed.

What does the Provisional Government intend to do?

To save Russia, to combat economic collapse, and to reorganize economic life, it has formulated a plan for a new institutional framework—a detailed blueprint for confronting economic disintegration.

At the heart of this endeavor—“the organization of the national economy and labor”—stands the Economic Council.

Finally, action is being taken; words are giving way to deeds. Excellent—about time!

But what, precisely, is the composition of this Economic Council?

Who will confront economic collapse? Who will wage battle against the criminal policies of capitalists, entrepreneurs, mill owners, and factory operators?

It turns out that the overwhelming majority of council members will be capitalists. Is this not a mockery?!

Here is the composition of this esteemed body:

In addition, the Council includes the Ministers of War and Labor, as well as three representatives from the cooperative movement.

As we can see, it is the capitalists who will be making the decisions.

Yet another institution is being established—one that, at best, will yield neither meaningful results nor tangible benefits.

Moreover, as is customary, countless commissions, subcommissions, committees, and the like are being created.

This, then, is how they propose to combat economic collapse.

They’ve thrown the pike into the river… “Pravda,” No. 85, July 1 (June 18), 1917
