Gelman proposes replacing the words "opportunist party of Menshevik social-democrats" with the words "opportunist wing of the party," motivating his proposal by the fact that not all Mensheviks adhere to the defensist tendency; the left wing does not share the defensist point of view.

Lenin speaks against the amendment: we are speaking of the majority, of the Menshevik party as a whole, therefore the characterization should not be changed.

Vedernikov proposes striking out the names: "Chkheidze, Tsereteli, and others"… The resolution will lose nothing if we remove them.

Ovsyanikov… proposes deleting the words: Chkheidze, Tsereteli, OK.

Lenin speaks against both amendments. It is one or the other – either names or OK – if you don't want to preserve both. The first comrade proposes leaving the OK and removing the names. But is the Organizational Committee sufficiently known to the masses, or is it necessary for clarifying the situation to the masses to use well-known names – Tsereteli, Chkheidze?

Sokolnikov proposes that in the phrase: "measures leading to their complete political neutralization" – strike out the word "complete," since it is possible to neutralize capitalists politically only by undermining their economic domination…

Lenin speaks against striking out the word "complete" and proposes the formulation: "measures undermining the economic domination of capitalists, and measures leading to their complete…"
