To the commission appointed by the joint assembly of executive committees to investigate the charges leveled against the Bolsheviks of maintaining communications with the Germans.

Yesterday (Thursday, July 6, 1917, at 12 a.m.), our comrade left a letter for Commission Member A.R. Gots, requesting that a time be set for the interrogation of Lenin, Zinoviev, and Kamenev. We likewise petitioned, through the commission, one member of the Socialist-Revolutionary Party.

In the morning (on Friday, July 7), Kamenev was informed by the Duma that the commission would arrive at the agreed-upon residence today at 12 p.m. We are writing these lines at 6:30 p.m. on July 7 and note that, to this day, the commission has not yet appeared and has given no sign of itself. The responsibility for the delay in conducting the interrogation does not rest with us.
