state power into the hands of the working class, the enemy of capital, the enemy of imperialist war, and only then do they have the right to call for the overthrow of all kings and all bourgeois governments.

For God's sake, try to get all of this to Petrograd and to *Pravda* and to Muranов and Kamenev and others. For God's sake, make every effort to send this with the most reliable person. It would be best if a reliable, intelligent fellow went, someone like Kuba (he would render a great service to the entire world working-class movement) and helped our Petrograd friends!! I hope you will do this!! You will do everything possible.

Conditions in Petrograd are extraordinarily difficult. Patriot-republicans are straining every effort.

They want to pour filth and mud on our party ("the Chernomазov affair" - I am sending documents about it*) and so on and so forth.

One cannot trust either Chkheidze & Co., or Sukhanov, or Steklov and others. No rapprochement with other parties, with anyone! Not a shadow of confidence and support for the government of Guchkov - Milyukov & Co.!! The most uncompromising propaganda of internationalism and struggle against republican chauvinism and social-chauvinism everywhere—in the press and within the Soviet of Workers' Deputies—organization of our party—this is the essence. Kamenev must understand that world-historical responsibility falls upon him473.

Spare no money on communications between Petrograd and Stockholm!!

I earnestly ask you, dear comrade, to telegraph me about receipt of this letter and generally to keep me informed in all respects au courant**. I hope our Swedish friends will help with this.

Firm handshake! Your Lenin
