Dear Manya! Yesterday I received two of your postcards simultaneously, from 29/8 and 1/IX.

Thank you very much for your efforts with the publishers and for sending the money. Has the new publisher received the manuscript on the latest capitalism? 342 Please let me know when it is received. I attach particular importance to this economic work and would especially like to see it in print as soon as possible. You write that "the publisher wants to release 'The Agrarian Question' as a book, not a pamphlet." I understand this to mean that I should send a continuation (i.e., in addition to what I wrote about America, I should write the promised part about Germany) 343. I will start working on this as soon as I finish what I have to write for the old publisher*.

* Refers to V. D. Bonch-Bruevich. Ed.

So, I take it that the new publisher has ordered a continuation of the agrarian question from me! Remind him of this when you get a chance. (I haven't received the 500 rubles yet, but of course, I will receive them in a few days: in my opinion, this is not an advance, but payment for the manuscripts already received by the publisher.)
Is it possible to find out (incidentally, not specifically), whether Granat has published my article on Marx in the Dictionary?* I do not have the offprint that was promised. If he does not respond, could you check in the library by looking up the dictionary under that letter?

Regarding the translations, I sent you three proposals (three books: Kemmerer; Gilbreth; Hobson). If they are not suitable, let me know, and I will look for others. If they are suitable, we need to agree more precisely that the order is given and the proposal is accepted. Then I will start working. Perhaps Anya could take on the translation of one of these works? Send my and Nadya's best regards to Anya.

I sent you 3 postcards to M. T.'s address, now I am sending this to your address. Is this equally convenient? Nadya and I continue to live quietly as before; in Zurich, the libraries are better, and it is more convenient to work. I kiss you warmly for myself and Nadya and send my regards to Mr. T. Thank you very much for sending the books; I also received the women's magazine.

Yours, V. U.
