In DZ 41 (7. X. 1916) an unsigned article:
«Der Ueberblick. (Ein anderer Standpunkt)»,
that E. Th. y'see disagrees both with the author of the
article
«The
Tr[ade] Un[ions] a[nd]
the
Mil[itary] Qu[estion]» and with the afterword
of the editorial board. He is against the «isolation» of trade unions, their «limitation» to «purely professional questions».
The author of the article defends himself over 3 1/2 half-columns, saying y'see we can't keep up, there's
a heap of things to do y'see
(list of r e f o r m i s t
questions!!), that y'see we had 6 articles about «impe
rialism» too, also from a s[ocial]-

Schneeberger, as a represent[ati]ve of the C. C. of the metal-

inst the idea that the trade union should «throw itself into pol[itical] actions», and got at the Lu
c[erne] Verbandskongress 56 v[otes] against 1 8, — that y'see «instead of systematic (p. 2, col. 3) fruitful work with the purpose of fulfilling, first of all and as far as possible, the tasks laid down in the statutes of the Tr[ade] Un[ions], we would conjure up a boundless mania for world improvement, in which various projects would be hatched with great lung power, but none would be carried out. The great majority of workers stand on the ground of facts. Much as they wish the «socialization of the means of production» to be realized, they do not plunge into ad
ventures.»
