13 January 1916.

Dear friend! We have not yet heard from you. We do not know how you traveled or how you are getting on.[^211]

Have you settled in well? Are you working comfortably in the library? We received a letter for you from one of the prisoners. The letter went to a different house, to another Russian (did you perhaps give an incorrect address at the post office—our address? did you forget the letters next to the number?).

We have some good news from home. Of course, you have paid close attention to issues 5 and 6 of "Nashe Slovo." Read them again!

I shake your hand firmly and wish you all the best with your studies.

Your Ivan
