"To present the realm of thought philosophically, i.e., in its own (NB) immanent activity, or, what is the same, in its necessary (NB) development"... (10) [6].

Remarkable!

"Known forms of thought" — an important beginning, "die leblosen Knochen eines Skeletts" * (11) [6].

What is needed is not leblose Knochen, but living life.

Connection of thinking with language (the Chinese language, incidentally, and its underdevelopment: 11), formation of nouns and verbs (11) [7].

In the German language words sometimes have "opposite meaning" (12) [7] (not only "different" but also opposite) — "a joy for thought"...

History of thought = history of language??

The concept of force in physics — and polarity ("opposites are inseparably (Hegel's italics) connected"). Transition from force to polarity — transition to "higher Denkverhältnisse"** (12) [7-8].

Nature and "das Geistige" *
|¯ NB also p. 11 [7]... "But if nature as the physical is generally opposed to the spiritual, then it should be said that the logical is rather the supernatural" ...¯|

Logical forms are Allbekanntes, but... "was bekannt ist, darum noch nicht erkannt"** (13) [8].

"Endless progress" — "liberation" of "forms of thought" from material (von dem Stoffe), representations, desires, etc., elaboration of the universal (Plato, Aristotle): beginning of cognition...

"Only after all that was necessary was at hand... did people begin to philosophize," says Aristotle (13-14) [9]; and he also: the leisure of Egyptian priests, the beginning of mathematical sciences (14) 67. Occupation with "pure thoughts" presupposes "a long path which the human spirit had previously to traverse."

In such thinking, interests "that move the life of peoples" "fall silent, the interests that move the life of peoples and individuals" (14) [9].

The categories of logic are Abbreviaturen*** ("epitomiert" **** elsewhere) of the "infinite mass" of "particulars of external existence and activity."

In turn, these categories dienen ***** people in practice ("in the spiritual elaboration of living content, in the creation of thoughts and in their exchange").

Relation of thinking to interests and drives...

"Of our sensations, drives, interests we do not, indeed, say that they serve us, but they are regarded as independent forces and powers, so that we ourselves are this" (15) [10].
