Lieber Radek!

Danke fur Resolutions entwurf1.

An Idioten Hollander (Tribune)4mussen Sie unbedingt einUltimatumschicken:

entweder unterschreiben sie unseren Entwurf, Projekt des Manifestes5und senden einen Vertreter in die cerweiterte kommission"6eine Gruppe der belgischen Internationalisten bilden (in Holland) oder wir brechen definitiv mit diesen Narren. Unertraglich!!!

Gruss! Ihr Lenin.

Dear Radek!

Thank you for the draft resolution1. Please don't forget about the statement (to demand from Balabanova: can't it be done in writing?).

I received the letter from Grimm of 25/IX2. Have you also? We are thinking of answering in detail3. (We will show it to you).

To the idiotic Dutch ("Tribune")4You must send an ultimatum: either they will sign our outline, the draft manifesta5, send a representative to the "enlarged committee "6, and form a group of Belgian internationalists (in Holland), or we will finally break with these fools. Unbearable!!!

Hello! Your Lenin.

1The draft resolution of the Left Social-Democrats "World War and the Tasks of Social-Democracy," introduced at the International Socialist Conference in Zimmerwald on September 5-8 (18-21), 1915, is evidently meant. Grunts of the draft with clarifications of wording, remarks and recommendations made by Lenin have been preserved (see: RCCHIDNI, f. 2, op. 1, d. 3694). Lenin asked Radek to send a copy of the draft, as well as a copy of the statement of the group of leftist delegates with the motivation for voting in favor of the Conference Manifesto. (See: Lenin V.I. Complete Collected Works, vol. 49, pp. 146, 153).

2The letter of September 12 (25), 1915, has not been found. It is known that in it R. Grimm, on behalf of the ISK, proposed the creation of an expanded ISK and requested that representatives of the Central Committee of the RSDLP be sent to it.

3The response was a letter from Lenin to R. Grimm (see: Lenin V.I. Complete Collected Works, vol. 27, pp. 32-36).

4 "De Tribune" - a newspaper of the left wing of the Dutch Social Democratic Labor Party. It was published from 1907 to 1937.

5This refers to the draft manifesto of the Zimmerwald Conference, introduced by left-wing delegates. (See: Lenin V.I. Opus, 2nd ed. Vol. XVIII, pp. 417-419).

6The Expanded Commission - meaning the International Socialist Commission (ISC) in Bern - the executive body created by the Zimmerwald Conference consisting of R. Grimm and O. Morgari.

A.I.Balabanova worked in the secretariat of the conference.
