V. I. LENIN--- TO K. RADEK
It would be extremely important for us to have a private consultation with
some of the German left. Could you arrange this? Incidentally, will you not
come here?

"Stern" — "Star". A group under this name was not formed.
The group of Bremen left radicals was established under the name: "Internationale Sozialisten Deutschlands" ("International Socialists of Germany").
4 Radek did not attend the preliminary meeting on July 11, 1915, in Bern
because the organizers of the meeting did not invite organizations that did not have representatives in the ISB. Radek belonged to the oppositional Warsaw Committee of the SPD.
5 This refers to the resolutions of the Bern Conference of the Foreign Sections of the RSDLP, held from February 27 to March 4, 1915 (see Lenin's Collected Works, Vol. XVIII, p. 124). The Institute's archive contains part of the French translation of the resolution.

V. I. LENIN --- TO K. RADEK.
[Before August 7, 1915]
The second Vorkonferenz is scheduled for August 7. In a letter, I
am afraid to say this: it might fall into the wrong hands.
Might be, could you write by a special route? or hint (sehr bald)?* Generally,
we need to think about how to do this without compromising the conspiracy.
The draft resolution printed below, composed by Lenin and translated by him and Zinoviev into German, was apparently intended for preliminary discussion among
the left delegates of various socialist parties, so that it could then be submitted on behalf of the "left" at the Zimmerwald Conference (see letters from Lenin to L. Kollontai,
"Len. Coll." Vol. II, pp. 234, 234, and 235). It has not been possible to establish whether this draft was discussed at the private meeting on September 4, 1915. The basis for the resolution of the Zimmerwald Left was a draft by K. Radek. The final text of the resolution of the left, "World War and the Tasks of Social Democracy" (published
