(Return Vainkopa: now that's a fine fellow, eh!)
I shall send a list of Russian books.

Regarding French books I'm uncertain: it's possible to obtain most of them by asking one of the Bern people to have them sent from the Geneva and Neuchâtel libraries (plenty of rubbish: I saw part of it in Paris). The financial question is connected with what follows.

The enclosed letter from Yury (return it) — insolent, stupid kulak behavior. It has been formally decided here to place Golay and Varin in the journal 136. The "Publishing Commission" is obliged to implement the decision. But they're acting like tyrants!! "My money bag, I'm a tyrant." It's clear that one cannot work this way. Let them go, to hell with them. Publishing (if they want to) will have to be done here, and it will be easier for us to stay away from such kulak behavior.

Here too it has been formally decided: they give 1/2 for transport and write us about payment deadlines within a week.

Not a word! — This is mockery!

Bukharin's letter (return it!) shows that for us to travel under such difficulties is impossible (with someone else's passport? they'll expose us and throw us in jail to do the tsar a favor!) 137. There's less and less money: two issues of *Sbornik* + a pamphlet will eat up most of what remains of our thousand. And the fare? And the cost of living in Stockholm? And working there (in the library) is worse.

One must think and think again.

Would it not be better to let these foolish kulak-types get some fresh air?

Send Golay to the *Sbornik* (Golay must be printed). I don't want to answer Yury at all: his stupid, merchant-like insolent letter is unbearable. Where is the limit? Promises, formal decisions — and "I'm the boss, I won't pay"!! No, there is a measure to everything! This is already the most shameless lying!

Greetings to all. Yours, Lenin

We don't have "Speeches" for this issue. Doesn't Yury have it?
