I would like to know your opinion on this in greater detail.

Bruce Giasier, in my view, is a worthless collaborator: although he does have a proletarian streak, he is nevertheless an insufferable opportunist. It is hardly possible to work together with him: he will break down in tears after two days and say that he was "drawn into it," that he desires nothing of the sort and does not recognize it.

Have you seen David's book and his review of our manifesto?⁹⁹

Is there no material in the Scandinavian countries on the struggle between the two tendencies regarding the question of attitude toward war? Could one not gather precise material (reviews, assessments, resolutions) with exact comparison of facts regarding the tendency of both currents? Do the facts confirm (in my opinion, yes) that opportunists — taken as a tendency — are, in general, more chauvinist than revolutionary social-democrats? What do you think — could one not gather and work up such material for *Kommunist*?

I shake your hand and wish you all the best. N. Lenin

P.S. Who is this Shaw-Desmond who delivered a report in the Scandinavian countries? Is there not an English version of his report? Is he a conscious revolutionary, or à la Hervé?
