Dear friend! I was very glad to hear from you. What is this you are sick so often? By whose permission? And how will you carry on serious musical science if you behave so badly? I hope you have recovered thoroughly,—soon you will have the urge to travel,—we will meet somewhere and I will be able to hear you sing.

Concerning the CO² I have passed on. (Don't worry about the typeface and printing shop—now it is not necessary.)

But all the same you will arrange a concert sometime for the benefit of the revolution,—isn't that so?**

¹ V. L. Bogrova—in 1905 a member of the Petrograd Soviet of Workers' Deputies; persecuted by the tsarist government for participation in the revolutionary movement. In 1905 Bogrova emigrated abroad; there she studied at the medical faculty; completed the conservatory in the vocal class in Florence (Italy). See also the present collection, pp. 69, 75, 76, 84.
