Lenin. I am being attacked for "demagogic methods," for splits, and so forth. But how have my opponents acted? They always heap mud on the Bolsheviks. The unseemly brochure by Martov{110} can serve as an example of this. – I merely expressed my opinion that the Bolsheviks would participate in the conference of the International Bureau. But the Central Committee, where workers sit, will have to decide this question. They will decide this question, not Lenin. – Those who say that liquidationism does not exist do not respect the congress. In the party's decisions already since 1908, it has been clearly stated what liquidationism is. These decisions have not been repealed and must be taken into account. Now liquidationist ideas are being preached in the newspapers of the "August Bloc." Supporters of the Organizational Committee here assert that they are not acting against the party, but what does their newspaper say? There are many such examples. And the conciliationist An wanted to speak out against non-party agitation, but the editorial board remained of its own opinion. One cannot unite with those who defend the views of the newspaper *Luch*. The struggle for an "open workers' party" is liquidationism. – One must go to the conference being convened not in order to unite with the liquidators, but in order to expose them and prove that the August Bloc is a fiction. – Liquidationist press narrows the slogans, restricts revolutionary tactics. The liquidators have no illegal literature whatsoever; such literature exists only among the Bolsheviks. That Bolshevik organizations exist in Russia is evident from the latest (31st) issue. The elections to the Fourth State Duma also showed that an overwhelming majority of workers follow the Bolsheviks. These are facts that everyone can verify. Material support for the newspapers also testifies to this. – Cries for unity mean nothing; one must know how to unite. The Bolsheviks in Russia united the majority, whereas the August conference, on the contrary, united nothing. Braun is leaving it, Trotsky is leaving it – the "August Bloc" is falling apart. Buryanov also did not remain among the seven deputies. – For unity to become possible, it is necessary to condemn the liquidators.
