LETTER TO THE EDITORIAL BOARD OF THE NEWSPAPER *PUT' PRAVDY*1

After May 17 (30), 1914

You are far too lenient with the liquidators! They must be branded. Otherwise, it is a great sin to allow them to lead the simple astray. Brand them daily in 5-10 lines and you will quickly put an end to it. Repetition is necessary.

No commissions are needed on the Malinovsky affair. There is nothing to be done here. He got nervous, acted foolishly, broke down, withdrew, and was punished. Clear. Full stop. Let the scoundrel liquidators shout—only laughter should greet them, by publishing 2-3 lines1* daily: let Burenin stink, try, and pour out filth (to Martov and Dan in *Novaia Rabochaia Gazeta*). And our workers, reading this, will learn and understand.

We must teach our people (they are naive, inexperienced, and do not know) how to fight the stinking Marts. Do not indulge their inexperience and naivety (that would be a crime for a publicist and a leader), but teach them, show them, and explain. Let them be dissatisfied for 1-2 weeks: they will soon see the truth!!
