REGARDING THE FOLDING OF THE MANDATE BY R.V.MALINOVSKY

The news, which struck everybody like a thunderbolt out of the clear sky, about R.V. Malinovsky's resignation of his mandate, hit his close friends especially hard. It was all the more difficult for them because they had not been prepared for it and could not explain themselves to R. V. Malinovsky because of the extreme speed of his decision and his departure from St. Petersburg. We can only guess that the extreme nervous excitement and fatigue, of which Malinovsky had long complained, played a fatal role.

F.N. Samoilov's work in the Duma caused a severe nervous disorder, but the measures taken in time now give full hope of recovery - after many months of interruption of all political activity2.

R.V. Malinovsky apparently got overstrain, which ended in a crisis.

Let us hope that, in spite of this severe crisis, Comrade Malinovsky will be able to return in the not too distant future to the work in the ranks of the Russian proletariat1* which he has carried on for so many years with such brilliant success.
