E. CORRADINI. "ITALIAN NATIONALISM"
Enrico Corradini. "Italian Nationalism." Milan, 1914.
Written before the war. In the article "Nationalism and Socialism" (January 14, 1914) there are interesting formulations of an imperialist of a small nation. France and England = banks with capital of 300 and 400 billion (p. 162). Plutocratic nations (France, England, Germany) are "pacifistically inclined" (sic!) (ha-ha!) "mainly because they are plutocratic" (188), while proletarian nations (Italy), fighting with Turkey, fought against plutocratic nations (sic!! ha-ha!).
Imperialism, you see, is a modern phenomenon, but it divides nations into plutocratic and proletarian; "this (nationalism) is the socialism of the Italian nation in the world" (156).
This is the whole point of this wretched little book: other nations are robbing a lot. "Socialism" consists in the fact that our small and poor nation catches up with or overtakes those robbing a lot, so that it too can rob more!!

"AVANTI!"
Discussion between Turati and Serrati
NB
"Avanti!" 15. II. 1917 and 18. II. (Giornale d’Italia, 18. II. 1917, about these disagreements)
Discussion (in Milan on 15. II.) between Turati (for "national rights" and for reforms?) and Serrati ("In sostanza egli ritiene che questa guerra non risolva il problema della nazionalità e che è vano, per i socialisti, sperare di ottenere questa soluzione ed affaticarsi per essa").

NÈ TEDESCA, NÈ FRANCESE "Avanti!" 20. II. 1917. Editorial. "Nè tedesca, nè francese" regarding the book by the Belgian Omer Boulanger "L’Internationale a vécu" (the German one has had its day, now there will be a French one). Very resolutely against social-patriots.
