TO THE EDITORIAL OFFICE OF THE NEWSPAPER “FOR TRUTH.”
[No earlier than November 3, 1913. Kraków.]
Dear colleagues! I extend my congratulations on the splendidly launched campaign in defense of the rights of working-class deputies!
Having read the vile squabble in the New Workers’ Gazette, No. 2, I strongly advise you to give the matter careful thought and to adopt my plan from yesterday, No. 3.
We cannot afford to leave such matters unresolved without proper organizational action.
It is not enough for workers merely to send out resolutions; it is absolutely essential that workers establish their own delegations to the Duma faction.
Best regards and warmest wishes!
Yours, V. I.
1 The article in question is “In Defense,” signed “From the Editorial Board” (“For Truth,” No. 14, November 1 (October 19), 1913). The article argued that the time had come to put an end to the schismatic activities of the seven deputies; the rallying cry for all working‑class deputies should be: equality between the two factions.
– The article in question is the leading piece in No. 61 of the New Workers’ Gazette, dated November 1 (October 19), entitled “What, Who, and How Is It Being Done?” (unsigned), which contained slanderous accusations against the Bolsheviks, alleging that they were engaged in “work that is deadly for the working class.”
