Dear Colleagues! I cannot help but express my profound indignation at the editorial board’s decision to publish, in No. 24, the foolish and brazen letter from Mr. Bogdanov—and at the editor’s equally absurd postscript, numbered 180. The condition had been stated clearly and unequivocally: such materials were not to be printed without prior consultation.

Yet the editorial board has blatantly violated this very condition, as if mocking it outright. It is hardly surprising, then, that for the same reasons, the letter from Mikhaltch, which he himself subjects to repeated self-criticism within its pages, fails to inspire even the slightest trust.

* This letter is a postscript appended to a letter by N. K. Krupskaya. Ed.

The request from the Riga workers (No. 24) was dated January 19. There was ample opportunity both to link it with the article on populism in No. 17 (dated January 22) and to transmit it here in a timely manner—No. 181. I repeat: the editorial board is openly deriding the stipulated conditions. I earnestly request that, once read by those who should read it, this letter be immediately forwarded to the newspaper’s publisher, Deputy Badayev.

At your service, V. Ilyin
