The plan for securing funding for the thick journal of such-and-such a program, under the editorship of such-and-such a staff, or else to proceed, according to the same plan, with the expansion of “Enlightenment.”

More precisely: not either-or, but both-and.

I await your reply. From Vienna, you have undoubtedly already received my letter concerning “Enlightenment” No. 176. There is good reason to hope that we can consolidate it in a smaller format by 1913. If you wish for “us to have our own journal,” then let us move forward together.

As for the Dashnaks, I have heard nothing about them. But I regard the rumor as utterly baseless—nothing more than a fabrication spread by the government, which seeks to devour Turkish Armenia in 177.

R.R.S.* will undoubtedly side with Austria and fight on its behalf. A war between Austria and Russia would be an exceedingly beneficial development for the revolution—not only across Eastern Europe, but also in many other respects—but the likelihood that Franz Joseph and Nicholas will grant us this pleasure is quite slim.

You ask that I keep you informed more frequently. I am happy to oblige—just be sure to respond in kind. For now, I am sending—under seal, for the time being—the resolutions from our recent meeting (which, in my view, was highly successful and will play a crucial role)**.

They say that resolutions are the most tedious form of literature. Yet I have long since grown accustomed to resolutions. Please tell me how readable they are for you—especially when it comes to discussions of revolutionary strikes and of the liquidators.

What harm could possibly come from the rumor circulating in Russia regarding an amnesty? I do not know. Please share your thoughts.

N.K. sends his regards.

I shake your hand firmly.

Yours, Lenin
