Dear V. I.! Perhaps you would not object, if the occasion arises, to pass on to my friend Mr. Spitz (I think you sometimes meet him at the university) the following: his friends here are asking him 1) once more to be sure to be here at the promised time (or earlier) and 2) to write to Petersburg to his acquaintance*, who came here, so that he too would be sure to come here once more on r. kh. (i.e., the 12th by Russian reckoning) and would drag along other colleagues. It will certainly be a very useful use of time. Without the advice of the St. Petersburg comrades, he might not go.
