Vlasov — pseudonym of A. I. Rykov, who had been a party member since 1899. During the period of reaction he took a conciliatory position towards the Liquidators, Otzovists and Trotskyites.

N. A. Rozhkov — historian and publicist. In early 1905 he joined the R.S.D.L.P., for some time adhered to the Bolsheviks. After the defeat of the 1905—1907 revolution he became one of the ideological leaders of Liquidationism.

...set up by the plenum of the CC of the R.S.D.L.P. in August 1908 as a general party representation abroad, subordinated to the Russian Bureau of the CC. Later a stable Liquidator majority formed in the FBCC, which did everything possible to disorganise the work of the central party institutions.

Sotsial-Demokrat — Central Organ of the R.S.D.L.P. — an illegal newspaper; published from February 1908 to January 1917. The editorial board of Sotsial-Demokrat was formed by decision of the CC of the R.S.D.L.P., elected at the Fifth (London) Congress, from representatives of the Bolsheviks, Mensheviks and Polish Social-Democrats. The actual head of the newspaper was V. I. Lenin.

...written later than February 4, 1911 (see V. I. Lenin, Collected Works, Vol. 20, pp. 105–107).

...organ of the Mensheviks; published from February 1908 to December 1911. From its first issue Golos Sotsial-Demokrata defended the Liquidators, justifying their anti-party activity. After the resignation of G. V. Plekhanov from the editorial board, who condemned the liquidator line of the paper, Golos Sotsial-Demokrata definitively became the ideological centre of the Liquidators.

...of the CC, which the Bolsheviks insistently demanded in connection with the Liquidators’ non-fulfilment of the decisions of the January plenum of the CC of 1910.
